CENTRAL DALMATIA, TOURIST PARADISE

Central Dalmatia is the most popular part of Dalmatie, and will probably soon be the most popular destination in all of Croatia. Split and its well-connected airport forms the biggest tourist hub of the country; here lots of tourist start their journey along the spectacular Dalmation coast and islands. Ferry’s and seaplanes depart from this old Roman city to all the surrounding islands such as Brac, Solta, Vis and the most famous of them all, Hvar. Northwest of Split the UNESCO-city Trogir literally forms the bridge between the Dalmatian mainland and the very popular island Ciovo. The originally Swedish Yacht Week had developed to a world famous phenomenon and has introduced lots of young people with the beauty of Croatia. And has taken the nightlife of Split and Hvar to the next level. Southeast of Split you will find a very dramatic and beautiful coastline with the beautiful Biokovo mountain range in the background. Omis and Makarska are the most popular places along this coast.

There is a great variety in properties and prices in this area. Reasonably priced apartments can be found on the Ciovo peninsula, while very luxurious and pricy villas can be found on Hvar and around Omis. As in all of Croatia, there is always a shortage of good properties, and asking prices often are very unrealistic. This makes the need of expert assistance crucial. The area is very popular with sailing enthousiast with a lot of marinas as a consequense. Buying and renovating city apartments in Split, Trogir and Hvar town has become very popular and profitable as short stay tourism is booming. Big projects, such as the Nikki Beach Resort on the island of Hvar, have suffered some delay due to the economical crisis and bureaucracy. But it seems that the growth has come back in 2015, after years of falling housing prices, which makes it an excellent time to buy.

BEREIKBAARHEID

Dalmatië is in 2 dagen bereikbaar met de auto. Vanuit de Benelux duurt vliegen slechts 2 uur met goede en gunstige rechtstreekse vluchten op Zadar en Split, en verbindingsvluchten naar Brac en Hvar indien gewenst. De eilanden zijn altijd goed bereikbaar met de veerdiensten, zowel fast-ferry als auto-ferry.
